Salicylic Acid 2% is a beta hydroxy acid designed to exfoliate the skin. This treatment helps to clear the inside of pores, reducing the appearance of blemishes and enhancing skin clarity with regular use.
Contraindications
This formula should not be used on sensitive, peeling, or compromised skin. Refer to the sun protection notes and other warnings provided in the Directions. While exfoliating acids can provide quick visible results, we generally recommend indirect exfoliation methods over direct ones due to potential inflammation and sensitivity. For alternative options, consider NIOD’s Non-Acid Acid Precursor. Note that this product is not a medicinal treatment. For severe or persistent acne, consult a physician as there are effective medicinal treatments available, such as retinoic acid and benzoyl peroxide.
How to Use
Apply in the AM and PM. For targeted treatment, use a small amount directly on blemishes. For overall skin clarity, apply a small amount across the face. Avoid the eye area and contact with eyes. Conduct a patch test by applying the product to a small area once daily for three days to check for sensitivity. Begin with one application per day; if dryness or peeling occurs, reduce use to once daily or every other day. If severe irritation, hives, swelling of the eyes or mouth, blistering, or difficulty breathing occurs, rinse off immediately, discontinue use, and seek medical advice. Keep out of reach of children.
Sunburn Alert
This product contains a beta hydroxy acid (BHA) that may increase your skin’s sensitivity to the sun and the risk of sunburn. Use sunscreen, wear protective clothing, and limit sun exposure while using this product and for a week afterward.
